Founded in 1909 by a group of six Ridgewood businessmen, Orpheus is the oldest civic musical organization in the Village of Ridgewood and one of the longest extant male choruses in the region. Our singing membership is made up of men from all walks of life drawn together by the common bond of music. Our singers now come from Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Middlesex, Morris, and Rockland counties.

While our singing membership changes every season, approximately 45 men sing at each of our concerts, covering the four traditional mens choral parts.
